Octavio Gomez is the chief executive officer of GSF Hotels & Resorts, Inc., one of the nation's fastest growing hotel and resort management companies. With over 30 years of experience in the hotel and resort industry, he has a wealth of diversified business experience encompassing all areas of management, operations, marketing, sales and strategic planning with full profit and loss responsibility. Mr. Gomez has held several senior management positions for some of the top names in the hotel industry such as Sheraton and Hilton.
During his tenure at Sheraton Mr. Gomez was responsible for the creation of one of the most comprehensive operations procedure manual for the industry. Later, as Vice President and Regional Director for Food and Beverage in the North American Division East for the ITT Sheraton Regional headquarters he spearheaded the food and beverage performance for 24 Sheraton Hotels from Canada to Florida.
As Director of Food and Beverage Operations for Hilton Hotels Corporation, he coordinated and managed the entire Food and Beverage Operations for Trump's Castle Casino and Hotel, a property with over 600 rooms, a 60,000 sq. ft. casino, 11 retail outlets including showroom and two 600‑seat restaurants.
Mr. Gomez also oversaw the design, building, and opening of of one of the most prestigious properties in the Walt Disney World Resort, The Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel. This 400 million dollar project included 1500 rooms, 11 restaurants, and over 100,000 square feet of convention and meeting space. During the planning of the hotel, Mr. Gomez designed and executed the opening of many of the hotel's restaurants.
Mr. Gomez has extensive experience in the recruiting, hiring, and training of new employees in order to develop effective teams. He has directed the activities of managerial, professional, technical and support personnel evaluating and upgrading operations and managed auditing, strategic planning, purchasing and inventory. Most recently Mr. Gomez has served as the Managing General Partner and Chief Operating Officer of Wyland Galleries of Florida, Ltd. with 3 locations in Orlando, Florida, and additional locations in Naples, Palm Beach Gardens and Miami, Florida generating over $5,500,000 in annual revenue. Mr. Gomez has sat on many boards including the Orlando Convention & Visitor's Bureau where he served on the board of directors.
He has owned and operated in a senior management position, many companies related to travel and tourism over the past 15 years and continues to be a leader in the concepts and designs of creating a truly memorable guest experience. A resident of Orlando, Florida, Octavio is married with four children.
